I got up a little before 7 am and had coffee, prayed, read my Bible and sent the verse of the day:
Deuteronomy 31:8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; He will be with thee, He will not forsake thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
For breakfast I ate apple slices and dipped them in almond butter. I took Zeb to class because of the weather. By the time I pulled in to the driveway, he called and said that they had cancelled classes. I turned around and went back to get him. There was a lot of standing water and debris on the roads and the traffic lights were not working. We made it home safely.
I did the laundry and tidied up the kitchen. The power went out for about 3 hours, so Zeb ordered everyone a Fire House sub sandwich to be delivered.
Zeb and I went to Ingles, and it was not busy at all. When we went in an employee was standing at the door telling everyone that they were only accepting cash because the card readers were down. The man coming in behind us said that the ATM’s were either not working or empty. I had cash so I got the items that we needed. I grabbed us a Texas Roadhouse and brought it home for supper.
I checked on Jake, Savannah, Alex, Ashley and Raylen, Momma and Daddy. Everyone was okay. Savannah sent me a couple of ultrasound photos of Colton. Alex’s power is out but they are okay.
There is a lot of misinformation about the storm. It was reported that the Waterville Dam had collapsed, we know today that it is okay. Downtown Newport is flooded and in Greeneville the Hwy 107/Erwin Hwy bridge has collapsed along with other bridges. A portion of I 40 at the TN/NC border has washed away.
We have a lot of fallen limbs in the backyard and the pool is a mess. I turned off the pump because the skimmer baskets were filling up so fast.
I talked to Alex before I went to bed. Their power is out and the bridges in their area have washed away. She said that they were okay.
It has been a busy day. So, I am off to bed to read my Bible, pray and get a good night's rest.
